How to Get Organized in Your Nesting Phase

When you’re about to have a baby, it can be such an exciting season of life. But at the same time, you may be aware that there are so many things you need to do before the arrival. This is why it can be quite handy when the nesting phase sets in. In this blog post, we’re going to take a look at how you can look to be as organized as possible when you’re nesting.

Write a List

To start with, you might find that what you really want to do here is begin with a list. You may have so many things on your mind, so it's good to get them out. As ideas pop up, you can add them to the list so that you’re prepared and ready to get started. That way, it reduces mental overwhelm and helps you to stay organized.

Get Cleaning and Organizing

Then, when your list is all underway, the next thing you’re going to want to do here is start with your cleaning and organizing process. We all know that this is when you’re going to want to have a huge clear out of things you no longer need or items that might be cluttering your home. When your home is more organized, you’re going to feel a lot better. Je

Get Tidying and Fixing

But at the same time, you might need to take that beyond your usual cleaning routine and go a little deeper. When that urge to nest hits, it hits! This means you might even want to take on tasks that have been on your to-do list forever. If you find yourself wanting to learn how to fix a leaking washer or deep clean your oven, that can be entirely normal. You may find that you really want to go over every inch of your house, tidying, cleaning, and fixing everything in sight! At least you’ll feel fresh and ready for when your baby arrives!

Get Shopping

As part of this process, you may find that there are things you need to shop for. Even if you have a lot of your baby essentials to hand, you will want to ensure that you’ve got extras like storage or things for yourself for your postpartum recovery. You can certainly get things after the baby is here, but it also helps for you to be as prepared as possible.

Enjoy Making Your House a Home

Ultimately, you’re also going to want to make sure that you’re fully enjoying this phase. Being able to nest and let yourself feel prepared and ready for your new arrival can be a really lovely part of late pregnancy. Not only can it feel relaxing to do, but it will allow you to feel mentally prepared too. When everything is organized, clean, tidy, and you feel like you’re ready for your new arrival, all that’s left for you to do is take care of yourself in the final weeks and then enjoy the newborn phase as soon as it comes!
